What was Thanksgiving supposed to be for?

So what really was the point according to our forefathers about the day of Thanksgiving, was it to celebrate with some Turkey with the Native Americans? Was it to stuff our faces with food and then take that all too familiar "Turkey Nap" on the couch or the recliner?

It wasn't meant to truly be about any of that but the SP's and liberal school books will tell you it was about the Indians (oops sorry, Native American's) and the Pilgrims. Those friendly Native Americans that invited the European settlers to shore for a feast.

That definition is fine for grade schoolers but the real truth is that the Indians wanted to kill the Pilgrims for coming ashore and the Pilgrims retreated to their boats for a sabbaths day rest to pray and give thanks to the God above for their lives and their journey to the new world. The first Thanksgiving was truly that a day of rest and acknowledgement of the Almighty God who had given the travelers their very breathe. That's what this holiday should be about yet we turned it into something our forefathers did not intend it to be some place where the Almighty no longer had a seat at the table but it became all about the turkey. And for that we all have been made out to be the turkey's (or better said suckers) of Thanksgiving. Next year, if you didn't do it this year, remember what its all about, its about God and nothing else.

Here is what our first President George Washington wrote in 1789 (two years after the writing of the Constitution) about Thanksgiving, notice how he mentions God and how many references to Him there are. Don't ever let anyone tell you that it unconstitutional to have God in government buildings, or Christmas displays in city hall's, would our forefathers have agreed? I think not!

Washington's 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to "recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the 3d day of October, A.D. 1789.

Just a thought

So I hope everyone's weekend is treating them just fine!

I was just thinking about this before I go to bed.

Our nation is great, though sometimes we argue about what is right and what is wrong with it. We are great.

However, unfortunatley, we forget the one thing that makes us this great...

Can you guess what it is...

We are and always will be no matter who is in office or who says 2+2=4, or who says 2+2=7...

We are and always will be...

One Nation UNDER GOD!

No matter who is in charge in Washington, there is a being that is above all things in the Country, no matter how hard we try to forget it. We are not above God, but as it says in the Pledge of Allegiance, we are...

One Nation UNDER GOD!

Have a great rest of the weekend and God Bless America.

Is it a crime to call Al-Qaeda?

So Mr. Matthews, is it a crime to call Al-Qaeda? I don't know was it a crime during the cold war to contact Moscow and the KGB?

If your answer to this question is anything less than yes then consider yourself part of the PC, Social Progressive crowd who are too afraid to tell it like it is.

Instead of calling this horrific act of terrorism what it is instead it is called a tragedy. Instead of mourning for our lost soldiers at the hands of an Islamic Terrorist we have the mass media trying to justify why the attacker isn't a terrorist.

What is wrong with this country? Have we all gone mad or something.

When was it a bad thing to tell people the truth?

When the abortion doctor Tiller was gunned down the man who did it was called a killer, but when Hasan commits his complete, calculated and blatant act of terrorism, Obama, Matthews and others are careful not to jump to conclusions? How do you spell Hypocrite???

I know, we don't want to offend the Muslim's, but maybe we do. Maybe then they will be forced to do something about these so-called extremists who have allegedly hijacked their so-called peaceful religion. (I can cite many verses in the Qur'an showing that violence and bloodshed is a way of advancing Islam if I must cite them.) When is last time a Southern Baptist strapped a bomb to himself and blew up a subway? How about the last time a Hindu shot up a mosque in New Delhi? The problem is simple, its Islam and the only way it can be stopped is by the people within the religion. But it will never be addressed when we tip-toe around the issues surrounding such a religion in this country.

Our media is so open to defend Islam yet so ready to criticize Christianity. When someone identifies with Jesus he is considered a loon, uneducated or a bigot, but when someone in the news identifies with Islam he is oppressed, mostly by those evil conservatives, people at Fox News and War-mongering Christians. While we are busy kissing up to Muslims around the world they are killing us here on our own soil. Since 2001 over 3,000 American citizens and soldiers have lost their lives to Islamic Terrorist on our own soil, not over in Iraq or Afghanistan, but here in the USA.

I want to quote Walid Shoebat, ex-Islamic Extremist and PLO warrior, when speaking about the misconception the US has towards Muslims who want to harm us, he said, "What part of Kill don't you understand?"

I ask our President and all his people that same question, what part of kill don't you understand?

Wake up and get off your high-horses and realize this is more than just about saving face and apologizing on some Michael Jackson-esque world tour. Its about protecting our homeland and our freedom. Your first responsibility is to the safety of our homeland, without it we wouldn't have a homeland. Stop listening to nutcases like Matthews, Schultz, Olbermann and others who's idea of terrorism is what the crusaders did back in the 13th century as opposed to what happened on 9-11 or Pearl Harbor.

People, if we allow this "careful around the Muslims" 9-10 philosophy we will surely end up with many more 9-11 outcomes. Be warned if we allow these radical politicians like Pelosi, Reid, Frank and Obama to continue their work in our country there won't be an American in 10 years, that's a promise.

Health Care Bill passes, oh boy...

Tis a sad, sad day in America.

The Democrats regardless of what the people have said and regardless of how many of their constituents disapproved of the bill, it passed by a 220 to 215 vote.

What now?

First, I think this country needs health care reform but this is not it, this is not it!

Capitalism is the way to promote better health care through allowing open access to all insurance companies regardless of where they are located.

Competition drives the market to aggressive pricing not regulation. We are what we are in this country because of free market capitalism. If we want to be more like France then we should move their. Their government spending is way out of control much like ours is starting to become and with this we will no doubt be broke in a few years and be forced into the looming One World system.

Say goodbye to your freedoms people, you just let 220 people decide your fate and its not going to be a pretty one.

What's next you wonder, try the abolishing of the 2nd amendment, the best way to diffuse a situation is to disarm the people quietly, its coming mark my words!

Words we should remember

Here is an exerpt from Thomas Paine's "Common Sense"

"But where, says some, is the King of America? I'll tell you Friend, he reigns above, and doth not make havoc of mankind like the Royal Brute of Britain. Yet that we may not appear to be defective even in earthly honors, let it be brought forth and placed on the divine law, the word of God; let a crown be placed thereon, by which the world may know, that so far as we approve of monarchy, that in America the law is King. For as in absolute governments the king is law, so in free countries the law ought to be king; and there ought to be no other. But lest any ill should afterwards arise, let the crown at the conclusion of the ceremony be demolished, and scattered among the people whose right it is."

I say to all who read these words remember them and the current state of our Union, let the government not forget that the law shall be king in this land and not the government. It is we who set these laws not the politicians, we have a choice to vote and enact laws, we are not subject to the government unless we allow are liberties to be taken. Stand up now and fight for your God given right to be free! Say no to Big Government!
